Welcome to MUGCR
The society of Change Ringers for students in Manchester
The Manchester Universities Guild of Change Ringers (MUGCR) is a friendly group of student bellringers from the universities in Manchester and Salford, and we welcome students from any of the educational institutions in the Manchester area.
The MUGCRs are based at Sacred Trinity church, Salford; during term time we practice ringing on Tuesdays between 19:00 & 20:30, and then normally spend the rest of the evening in the nearby King’s Arms.
If you’d like to find out more, even if you’ve no idea what ringing is, then come along to one of our practice nights. We’re a teaching tower, from learning to handle a bell right up to how to get 80% of the way through a peal before firing it out. If you’re an existing ringer who’s new to Manchester, drop us a message or come along to a practice. All abilities are truly welcome.
